Reindeer Luminary Sculpting Workshop, Sat. 12/20, 6-8pm
Create your own luminary for winter in the shape of a beautiful reindeer! Choose from shapes and patterns with ‘stitching’ to give it your own unique style. Trim out shapes for the candle light to shine through! Use slab clay and hand building techniques taught by our experienced potters with step by step instruction. Ages 8 and up. Your reindeer will measure aprox. 8” tall, and take time to dry before it’s fired in our kiln.
Return after 2 weeks to paint your reindeer with glaze in your choice of colors (no appointment needed, and no additional charge). Then it goes into the kiln for a final firing. Use a flame candle or battery operated candle to illuminate it! Ready 2 weeks after glazing.
Note: This workshop is sculpting clay at a table, not on the pottery wheel.
Please arrive 10 minutes early to get settled, as instruction will begin promptly at 6pm.
Late arrival of 20 minutes or more will be considered a cancellation without refund.
Registrations are closed 2 hours prior to the workshop so that we can prepare materials.
Aprons are provided, but clay may get on clothing and shoes.
Beverages are allowed to be brought with you, including alcohol for ages 21+.
